Welcome to Guitar Heat Lessons- I hope you have a good time RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Devoluping ear is a difficult and time consuminng process. But it is also one of the most important things needed to become a good musician. If you have a good ear you will be able to identify chords, you will be able to identify notes, you can tell which key a perticular song might lie in.
Some Ear Training Exercises:
As i said before devoluping your ear can take a lot of time, it can take years. The main thing that a musician should understand is “Perfect Pitch” ie the ability to recognise the note just by listening to it. We must start from the most basic thing.
do re me fa sol la si do
C D E F G A B C
Now practise singing these syllables along with playing the note. This way you will become familiar with what are the basic/natural notes. As most of us know that whenever we play a C major scale we are playing the above. So just practise playing the C scale and sing the notes along with it. After you become comfortable with playing the scale up and down, try skipping some notes and singing the right notes.
Try: do-re-do-mi-do-fa-do-sol-do-la-do-si-do-do(octave)
try these 1st with instrumental accompaniment, then without.
do-fa-da-la-do-si-do-sol-do-re-do-me-do
Always a good option is to record yourself whenevr you play or sing something. This will help you identify all your mistakes.
